Feed Israel's Hungry

Too Many Israeli Children Are Going To Bed Hungry
There are over seven hundred thousand children living below the poverty line in Israel. Their struggle is apparent by their symptoms of poverty, which not only includes hunger but also disease, abuse and depression.

Yad Eliezer’s charity initiatives started in 1980 when the Weisel family began distributing weekly food boxes out of their home. Since then, Yad Eliezer has grown to deal with the many challenges of poverty through their various programs. Yad Eliezer is one of the only comprehensive anti-poverty networks in Israel as well as the largest hunger-relief agency in Israel.

Food boxes are only one aspect of Yad Eliezer’s poverty rehabilitation program. Recovery from all the symptoms of poverty continues with in-house collaboration between the nineteen economic and social welfare programs of Yad Eliezer with lasting effects. With your generosity, Yad Eliezer has been able to break the cycle of poverty for over 20,000 families living in Israel once and for all.

American Friends of Yad Eliezer

In 1981 a group of people, residing in the United States, dedicated to helping Israel and its poorest citizens, determined to find an outlet that matched their concerns and interests. They connected with Agudat Yad Eliezer, an organization that was doing just that. It was an officially chartered as a recognized entity of the State of Israel and it was feeding the poor of Jerusalem on a massive scale.

Yad Eliezer Inc. was incorporated in the State of New York in 1981, re-incorporated as American Friends of Yad Eliezer in 1999, and has worked ever since, to expand and improve its services in Israel. In 2021, American Friends of Yad Eliezer teamed up with B'ezri to direct funds even more directly and efficiently than ever before.
